It’s been over six years since Cory Monteith tragically passed away but those who have known and loved him still think about and miss him a lot, Lea Michele included. During the newest episode of the Showmance Podcast, the Glee actress revealed that she re-watched the first episode of the show not too long ago and it made her really emotional.
The reason why, is that she was able to notice some new qualities as far as her former boyfriend’s acting was concerned.
The podcast she was on is actually hosted by two other actors who were part of Glee, Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz, who portrayed Artie Abrams and Tina Cohen-Chang, respectively!
In other words, they knew all too well what she was talking about and could relate to the pain of losing Cory as well.
The trio was discussing the show’s pilot episode when Lea opened up about the reason why re-watching it a decade after its premiere hit differently.
Lea explained that ‘The moments that made me so emotional were not anything that ever has made me emotional before about the show. One of them was when [Cory] took [Kevin] out of that port-a-potty.’
She went on: ‘There were so many moments that you just see the whole arc of a character for a whole season in only one moment. Him taking [Kevin] out of that bathroom, and you see Finn’s heart. Oh my God.’
The musical show became an instant hit upon its premiere ten years ago!
Lea and Cory were each other’s love interests onscreen but a few seasons into Glee, they also started dating for real!
As it seems, their relationship started in February of 2012, and continued for the months leading to Cory’s death in July of 2013.
