Denver Nuggets guard has priceless reaction to Victor Wembanyama's huge hands

Victor Wembanyama has the ability to dwarf any player in the NBA.

Standing 7ft 4inches tall with an 8 foot wingspan and the handles of a point guard, the rookie has been described as 'an alien' by NBA legend LeBron James.

On Sunday, the French phenom appeared to live up to his 'alien' status after a Denver player's reaction to meeting him in the flesh went viral.

Ahead of tip-off in the Nuggets vs Spurs game, Jalen Pickett walked over to Wembanyama to shake his hand.

Following the handshake, the 6ft 2in guard appeared completely in awe at how big Wemby's hands are.

Pickett revealed his findings to his teammates to give them an insight into the beast they were coming up against.

Pickett was still going on about Wemby's hands as he sat down on the Denver bench, gesturing that they came up well past his own wrist.

Wembanyama has so far lived up to expectations by leading San Antonio in points and rebounds in their first 16 games, but the Spurs haven't been able to convert those stats into wins.

San Antonio's 120-132 loss to the Nuggets was their 12th straight defeat.

Reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic had a season-high 39 points along with 11 rebounds and nine assists to leave the Spurs rock bottom of the Western Conference.

While it was a disappointing night collectively, Wemby managed to write himself into the history books with a unique stat-line.

The 19-year-old put up 22 points, 11 rebounds, six steals, four blocks, and two assists to became the first rookie in NBA history to post that line or better in a game.

Only four players in NBA history has put up that stat line or better - James Harden did it in 2019 while Karl Malone, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Robert Parrish have also done the same.

The future is certainly bright in San Antonio but it's clear things are going to take time.

Despite their disappointing start to the season, Wemby is convinced he's at the right organisation for his development.

"I am convinced about the organisation," he said recently. "I trust them. I trust the coach. We have got some of the greatest people ever with us. There is no way it doesn't work. I know it is going to work someday."

Last week he scored 22 points and had nine rebounds while playing the first quarter against the Golden State Warriors in a jersey with his named misspelled "Wembanyana."

He changed into a jersey with the correct spelling in the second quarter.

Wembanyama said after that he didn't even realize the misspelling during the game, though he said it was a "real shame."

It certainly makes for a unique jersey, and may even fetch more than Wemby's debut jersey recently sold for.
